Wrapping up presents while wrapping up the year....
Hi! I hope this email finds you well and not too frazzled as the countdown to the festive weekend is well and truly on us. Four sleeps I think…? I feel like we’ve been celebrating for weeks as I had my 50th earlier in the month and it’s taken me forever to recover. I might have to reneg on saying I’m going to celebrate for a year, I need to charge these batteries! My daughter took me for an afternoon tea in London on a Routemaster bus, a treat I highly recommend but watch out for the sugar crash after :)
Apart from bus rides and birthday parties. I’ve been busy finishing my first term back at university alongside preparing for Christmas and it was an absolute tonic to sit down with Michaela Hyde to record the final episode of this first series of Women What Whistle. You may already know Michaela from The Marriage Foundation or from TVland, her podcast The M Word, or The Relationship Hub on YouTube. She also pops up regularly on our Facebook group page.
In this episode, we have a joint debrief of 2022 in which we touch on empty nest syndrome, long-term relationships, living with chronic pain, Michaela's menopause journey and my return to education. It’s just over an hour long so grab a mince pie and a cup of tea and join us for a chat….
..I know this time of year can be stressful no matter what the year is, but this time around, there is so much more going on isn’t there? I hope you’re managing to keep your head above water and that you have an enjoyable time with your loved ones. Last year I found myself saying ‘stay safe’; this year it’s ‘keep warm.’
So, stay safe, keep warm and as always - love first
Wishing you a very merry Christmas
